Day-Old Feeder Chicks straight from the hatchery, random selection of breeds, these are extra cockerels (males) the hatchery doesn't use.
Day-old chicks are not fed anything, they live off the egg yolk for the first 1-3 days past hatching. Therefore, these are neither Organic nor conventional, but they come from conventional-fed breeder hens.
Each chick weighs approximately 1.2 to 1.4 ounces.
These chicks are humanely euthanized with CO2, bagged, and frozen immediately.
