We are a small family farm producing humane food in a sustainable manner, and we support our suppliers who are doing the same. We also offer conventional meat items to keep your costs down and provide greater variety. As we find new sources and build more facilities, we will offer more of the naturally-raised food - with its greater nutritional content and lower social, karmic and environmental costs.

Please remember there is a 20 pound minimum order which helps keep your shipping costs down and helps ensure that product arrives in good shape. Minimum order of 30 pounds is strongly encouraged through the summer months, and more is better! Our Feeder Chicks come straight from a small midwestern hatchery. We use a variety of Heritage breeds, so your chicks will be a rainbow of colors - not just boring old yellow! These are hatchery overruns, usually males of egg-laying breeds, which have no other useful purpose than to feed to your animals.
Chicks live on absorbed egg yolk for the first few days post hatch, and are not fed anything - giving you a cleaner chick with less fecal matter.
Our Feeder Chicks are handled gently, euthanized humanely and safely, and quick-frozen for optimum freshness and nutrition.
Day-Old Feeder Chicks offer approximately 17% protein on an as-fed basis, a Calcium:Phosphorus ratio of 1.4:1, and are a good source of iron, potassium, and copper.
Day-Old Feeder Chicks weigh approximately 1 oz. each, and are packaged 20 per bag.
